Youth Liaison Program
The City of Mineral Point’s new Youth Liaison Program will provide students with the opportunity to get involved in local government through practical hands-on experience, but it also gives city officials the opportunity to hear from youth on important issues! APPLY
What do youth liaisons do?
- Provide youth perspective on relevent issues to the Mayor, Councilmembers and other groups
- Execute a community improvement project of their choosing
- Work to raise the consciousness of youth issues in the community
Expectations
- Commit to serving as a youth liaison from September to May
- Attend 1 City Council Meeting per month (meetings are typically held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6 pm) **Youth Liaisons also have the option to attend commission/committee meetings held at various other times
- Execute a commuity improvement project of their choosing
- Participate in City Council discussions
