Streets Foreman

The City of Mineral Point is accepting applications for a full-time Streets Foreman.
The Streets Foreman manages and coordinates all street related activities including, but not limited to, brush pick up, street maintenance, sidewalks, stormwater management, and snowplowing. The Streets Foreman ensures consistent inspection and maintenance of the City’s streets for public safety. Additionally, the Foreman oversees and directs the operation of the streets department including safety training, fleet management, equipment maintenance, employee scheduling, budget management, and project development and management.
The Streets Foreman works to cultivate a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment as the immediate supervisor for all streets employees. The Foreman works alongside other members of the public works departments of the City, including the Utilities and Parks Dept. The Foreman reports to the City Administrator.
Candidates must have at least two years in a public works supervisory role; knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in street construction and maintenance; knowledge of safety practices and training; demonstrated project management; Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a consistent basis; ability to communicate consistently and clearly; the ability to be on call during nights, weekends, and holidays; the ability to work in extreme weather conditions in all seasons, and possession of, or ability to acquire a Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s license with A, B, C, D, and N classifications.
